Manager of Operations

The Manager of Operations bridges Blend’s business teams and the IT and integration team responsible for building the platforms, integrations, and automations that run the firm. This is a business-facing role: you will work across GES functions (Finance, People, Operations, Legal, IT, Marketing) and commercial and delivery teams (Sales, Client Delivery, Practices & Solutions, Service Lines, and Delivery Centers) to understand how work gets done, where technology is falling short, and what should be built or improved.

You will translate those needs into clear, prioritized requirements and work closely with IT to shape solutions from concept through delivery. The right candidate is equally comfortable talking process with a business leader and architecture with a developer.

What You Will Do

Opportunity Identification

  • Engage business stakeholders across commercial, delivery, and GES teams to understand current workflows, friction points, and unmet technology needs
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for automation, integration, and improved platform utilization that drive efficiency or reduce operational risk
  • Maintain a running backlog of technology enablement opportunities to inform IT planning

IT Partnership

  • Translate business needs into scoped, actionable requirements the IT team can execute against, with your partnership
  • Participate in solution design conversations with a point of view on data, integration, and platform architecture
  • Track delivery progress, manage stakeholder expectations, and validate that solutions solve the original problem

Platform Stewardship

  • Develop working knowledge of Blend’s core platforms and drive adoption of existing capabilities before adding new tools
  • Work with the business and GES platform SMEs to support change management and user adoption for new technology rollouts
  • Identify and close gaps between what licensed software can do and how it is actually being used

Process and Continuous Improvement

  • Distinguish process problems from technology problems before recommending solutions
  • Drive a consistent bias toward reducing manual work and building scalable, repeatable approaches
  • Bring visibility and structure to how technology initiatives are tracked and measured

Required

  • 7+ years in a business operations, systems, or technology enablement role with clear experience sitting between business users and a technical team
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying inefficiencies and driving technology-enabled solutions from concept to adoption
  • Experience in a professional services or consulting firm
  • Functional fluency in at least two domains: Finance, HR/People, Operations, Sales, Client Management, or client-facing delivery
  • Working knowledge of integration concepts, automation tools, and business systems platforms (HRIS, ERP, CRM, PSA, or similar)
  • Strong English communication skills with the ability to adjust effectively between executive, business, and technical audiences
  • Proactive by nature; a track record of raising opportunities before being asked
  • Proficient with AI productivity tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) as a daily driver for research, drafting, analysis, and problem-solving; able to critically evaluate outputs and iterate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to accelerate and improve work, including prompt engineering, building agentic workflows, and identifying where AI augmentation adds the most value

Preferred

  • Experience operating in a matrixed organization where priorities, resources, and decision rights are shared across teams and functions
  • Effective at navigating competing priorities and stakeholder interests across business units, regions, or functions without losing momentum
  • Able to build and maintain productive working relationships across seniority levels, from frontline business users to executive sponsors
  • Skilled at driving outcomes across functions through relationships, credibility, and clear communication; equally effective with or without direct authority
  • Experience working across geographies and time zones
  • Hands-on experience with workflow automation tools such as n8n, Workato, Power Automate, or Zapier, and practical familiarity with APIs and integrations
