Manager - Operations Excellence

The Operations Excellence Manager is responsible for implementing and continually enhancing operational standards for health and safety, 5S and visual management, performance management, process management, and continuous improvement.

This role encompasses implementing and deploying site labor and equipment management tools, conducting operational improvement studies, and providing employee training on Lean principles.

The Operations Excellence Manager is responsible for implementing and continually enhancing operational standards for health and safety, 5S and visual management, performance management, process management, and continuous improvement.

This role encompasses implementing and deploying site labor and equipment management tools, conducting operational improvement studies, and providing employee training on Lean principles.

Additionally, the OpEx Manager is responsible for fostering Lean culture and ensuring that all continuous improvement initiatives are aligned with strategic business objectives, including but not limited to:

  • Conducts site visits and performance reviews with Operations management to share best practices, improve staff performance, determine and assess resource needs, and achieve operating plan goals.
  • Manage the project implementation/ conduct assessment of North Star Program across Health & Safety, Security, Business Resilience, Quality Management, Labor Rights, People, Continuous Improvement, Warehouse Standardization, Asset Strategy, Business Controlling and Energy Transition.
  • Drive and roll out site labour management and equipment management tools.
  • Identify and implement/conduct operational improvement studies on productivity, waste identification, and elimination of waste at the operational level and customer level.
  • Lead complex cross-divisional projects, ensuring workshop results are implemented. Conduct continuous improvement workshops such as VSM, process mapping, root cause analysis, FMEA, and 8D problem-solving.
  • Ensure timely submission of CI report (TMW-A3/ Quick Win/ Kaizen) into Aii Tracker and be sensitive to figures.
  • Monitor performance metrics and measurements related to CI/OE Scorecard and KPI.
  • Maintain a good relationship with the Operations team. Coach and mentor them on TMW Problem Solving, Lean activities/ CI Improvement Project.
  • Conduct 5S and Lean Sigma training, and mentor individuals toward 5S and Lean Sigma Belt Certification.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with project teams, operations heads, and process improvement staff to support the successful completion of projects.
  • Identify and communicate any unresolved problems or possible timeline issues along with recommended actions for correction.
  • Advocate continuous improvement of products and processes by soliciting new process improvement opportunities.
  • Champion local and regional Continuous Improvement competitions and provide guidance and direction to the participants on their project submissions.
