We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Manager, Optical and Visual Imaging to lead ancillary clinical operations, support staff development, and optimize service line performance. What You Will Do
As the Manager of Optical and Visual Imaging, you will oversee daily operations of optometric and imaging services, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient workflows. You’ll partner with leadership, providers, and staff to strengthen performance, improve processes, and support growth initiatives.
Supervision
- Lead optical and visual imaging operations to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care
- Supervise and develop clinical staff, including scheduling, timekeeping, performance management, and employee engagement
- Maintain patient and staff safety through regular rounding and continuous process improvement
- Optimize clinic operations by managing EHR workflows, dashboards, and staffing utilization
- Oversee clinical and retail inventory, including ordering, stocking, and supply chain coordination with Purchasing
- Manage equipment, vendor relationships, and service contracts to support operational readiness
- Support training and supervision of students and new staff
Finance
- Support financial performance by reviewing statements, managing patient collections, and ensuring adherence to financial policies
- Drive achievement of volume, staffing, and revenue targets through data analysis and operational improvements
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue growth initiatives
Patient Experience
- Promote exceptional patient experience by rounding in clinic areas and addressing concerns in a timely manner
- Document and track patient feedback to support service improvements
- Encourage use of patient-facing technology to enhance access and engagement
- Partner with providers and staff to reinforce patient experience standards
Training & Communication
- Support development and maintenance of clinical competencies, workflows, and standardized processes
- Train and onboard staff, ensuring compliance with policies, certifications, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor staff performance and foster cross-training and professional development
- Maintain strong communication with staff and providers through meetings, coaching, and updates
- Coordinate vendor training and support educational programs as needed
A Typical Day
You’ll lead day-to-day optical and imaging operations while balancing strategic priorities and execution. This includes supervising staff, resolving concerns, managing inventory, analyzing data, and improving processes.
Schedule
Onsite, full-time, exempt position. Monday–Friday core hours; additional hours as needed.
Work Environment & Travel
High-volume clinical environment with potential travel between locations. Adherence to safety protocols required.
