Site Overview:

Lilly is operating a new state of the art Parenteral, Device Assembly, and Packaging Facility located at the Research Triangle Park (RTP) in North Carolina. To achieve our mission, we need a Manager - Parenteral Engineering to join our team.


Responsibilities:


The Manager – Parenteral Engineering is responsible for the staffing, training, and leadership of the Engineering Technician team supporting process development, commissioning, qualification, validation, continuous improvement, issue resolution, and operation of the Parenteral area as well as other engineering and automation systems. The Manager – Parenteral Engineering will partner with other leaders to influence and implement the organization’s functional agenda, business plan priorities, and quality plan objectives for the site. They are required to develop employees as necessary to meet these business requirements.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Develop, mentor, coach, and recognize employees within their organization.
  • Develop and implement business plan objectives.
  • Track team performance in carrying out and completing objectives.
  • Staff the team with personnel capable of meeting business needs and objectives.
  • Build and drive safety and quality culture within organization.
  • Remove barriers that impact team performance.
  • Provide technical input/support to Formulation, Filling, Inspection, and Equipment Prep workstreams.
  • Develop local processes and procedures in accordance with the FUME system.
  • Ensure an adequate number of qualified resources are trained and qualified to support Parenteral Operations on floor.
  • Provide technical support in terms of SOP approvals, verification and design documents reviews and approvals, and on-field support as required
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained in a qualified state for reliable supply of medicine
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement projects or troubleshooting initiatives within the Parenteral organization.
  • Become a SME for Parenteral Engineering and Automation systems and processes.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience.
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role, including but not limited to F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Previous People Leadership experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to train and mentor others.
  • Solid understanding of basic requirements of regulatory agencies such as the FDA, EMEA, DEKRA, and OSHA.
  • Previous experience with highly automated equipment.
  • Previous equipment qualification and process validation experience.
  • Previous experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems and electronic batch release.
  • Previous experience with Quality Management Systems such as Veeva or Kneat.


Additional Information:

  • Ability to work 8-hour days – Monday through Friday
  • Ability to flex schedule periodically to meet with reports that are supporting a rotating 24/7 2-2-3 schedule.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$99,000 - $145,200

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
