Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing the Receiving and Inventory Control (IC) Departments for the Memorial Hermann Consolidated Service Center (CSC), which processes approximately $300M in products annually. Ensures that product is received and put away accurately into designated storage locations for stock items purchased for CSC inventory. Also responsible for ensuring the receipt of non-stock items, which are then cross-docked to the appropriate shipping staging area. The Receiving Manager works closely with other CSC leaders to ensure that receipts, put-aways, replenishments, and other inventory-related activities are performed accurately and in a timely and efficient manner. Leads a team that includes Receiving Clerks, IC and Receiving Leads, IC associates, and Put Away / Replenishment Specialists. Ensures safety, efficiency, and accuracy in the inventory control, receiving, replenishment and put away process. his position reports to the Director of Operations.Job Description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Logistics, Engineering, or related field preferred. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of three (3) years supervisory/management experience in a distribution warehouse environment required.
Licenses/Certifications: Material Handling Equipment (MHE) certification and/or Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a distribution warehouse environment required. Experience with pharmaceutical or medical surgical distribution preferred.
Experience managing receiving activities associated with a distribution center required
Knowledge of practical application of Lean/Six Sigma ideal.
Experience with resolving receiving and vendor invoicing discrepancies highly desired
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Labor Management Systems, Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) systems and Material Handling equipment preferred
Ability to identify, measure, and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and to develop and implement action plans for performance improvement
Strong verbal written skills, and ability to convey complex information in a way that others can readily follow
Excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to exercise good judgement in handling difficult situations
Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications, including strong Excel, Power Point, and other data mining tools
Ability to build relationships, negotiate, influence, and create win-win situations with multiple stakeholders
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, problem solving, and results
Demonstrated ability to work in a high-energy environment with time sensitive projects and processes
Have basic understanding of building budgets and managing expenses to the operating budget.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provides daily leadership for the receiving team, inclusive of Receiving Clerks and Put-away /Replenishment Specialists.
Manages all of the receiving, cross docking, returns processing, put away, and daily replenishment activities in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensures all medical products are received and stocked in a timely manner.
Works closely with Fulfillment Manager and utilizes Warehouse Management System (WMS) tools to ensure all picking locations are replenished and stocked daily.
Utilizes system reports and KPIs to measure and ensure performance standards are met.
Ensures the safe utilization of material handling equipment.
Works closely with the demand planning, purchasing, and inventory management teams to maintain accurate inventory for each inventory product/location.
Enforces safety measures, policies, and procedures in order to maintain a safe working environment.
Manages and is responsible for hiring, onboarding, performance management and training employees. The manager of receiving Department serves as a member of the Safety Committee.
Creates a strong culture of employee engagement while building working relationships internally and externally.
Possess a basic understanding of building budgets and managing expenses to the operating budget.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
