Hiring Salary Range:

$135,400 - $203,100

Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level.

PURPOSE:

Provide leadership and oversight for select Regional Transmission Projects team members in planning, engineering, construction and project scheduling. Develop maintenance and vegetation management procedures and contracts to support the reliability of Dairyland Power Cooperative’s 345 kV to 765 kV Extra High Voltage lines before they enter service. Mentor key transmission subject matter experts, promote safety and operational excellence, support cross-department collaboration and represent Regional Transmission Projects within Dairyland and the energy industry.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead EHV transmission project subject matter experts across planning, engineering, scheduling, environmental compliance and construction.

  • Partner with Dairyland Power Cooperative operations leaders to support safe, reliable and cost-effective service to member systems.

  • Promote a safety-first culture through program support, field observations and safe work practices.

  • Develop policies, procedures, contracts, maintenance plans and budgets for new 345 kV and 765 kV EHV transmission assets.

  • Serve as Dairyland’s owner’s representative during construction, testing, commissioning and transfer to operations.

  • Coordinate with System Operations and Engineering on outages, operational risks, restoration plans, switching, clearances and tagging.

  • Identify best practices and continuous improvement opportunities for EHV operations and maintenance.

  • Support other projects and initiatives as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in electric utility operations, including transmission construction, maintenance, or system planning. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, or a related technical field. May consider vocational, associate degrees with additional years of direct experience as a journeyman lineman. Experience involving EHV (345-765kv) and maintenance of those lines is preferred.

  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled at fostering cross-departmental collaboration and maintaining strong relationships with other DPC teams, other utilities, and industry organizations.

  • Continuous Improvement: Expertise in driving innovation, process optimization, and data-driven decision-making to enhance reliability, efficiency, and productivity.

  • People Leadership: Strong capabilities in workforce mentorship and resource prioritization to develop and manage a high-performing, motivated team.

  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

  • Writing Skills: Excellent written communication skills to accurately compile and prepare new written procedures or programs.

  • Communication and Advocacy: Excellent skills in presenting to peers, teaching new procedures, and representing the organization in industry forums.

The employee frequently is required to stand/sit; walk; use hands/fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to access transmission line ROW, climb or access elevated work platforms, work in variable outdoor conditions (heat, cold, wind, precipitation) across all seasons.
