DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Manager, Site Services – APAC, located in Chiyoda, Tokyo.
The Manager, Site Services – APAC is responsible for leading and optimizing site‑level services to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient workplace operations across the APAC region.
his role plays a critical part in enabling business continuity, employee experience, and operational excellence by overseeing facilities management, vendor performance, workplace services, and compliance within a regulated healthcare environment. The position offers the opportunity to influence regional standards, drive continuous improvement, and partner closely with global and regional stakeholders to support DePuy Synthes’ growth and transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day‑to‑day site services and facilities management operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant workplace environments.
Manage third‑party service providers (e.g., facilities, security, cleaning, maintenance), including contract oversight, service‑level performance, and cost control.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, corporate standards, environmental health & safety (EHS) requirements, and internal policies.
Partner with Global Real Estate, FM, and Corporate Operations teams to implement regional and global workplace strategies and initiatives.
Oversee space management, workplace services, and site projects to support business needs and employee experience.
Manage site operating budgets, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives while maintaining service quality.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies, standardizing processes, and leveraging best practices across APAC sites.
Serve as the primary site point of contact for facilities‑related issues, escalations, and stakeholder communications.
Partner closely with services providers, contractors and vendors to ensure robust delivery of facilities services across sites within the Americas
Monitors service providers’ performance against established performance KPI’s and escalates performance gaps to the global facilities team
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required (Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field).
Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
Typically requires 6 - 8years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management, site services, or corporate operations.
Proven experience managing vendors, service contracts, and site‑level operations in a corporate or regulated environment.
Strong knowledge of workplace safety, EHS standards, and local regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive operational efficiencies.
Effective stakeholder management and communication skills across local, regional, and global teams.
Experience leading site initiatives or projects with minimal supervision.
Experience managing operating budgets, continuous improvement programs, EHS&S improvement initiatives, and cost optimization initiatives.
Preferred:
Experience supporting multi‑site or regional (APAC) operations.
Background in healthcare, life sciences, or similarly regulated industries.
Familiarity with global real estate, workplace strategy, or corporate services operating models.
Experience driving change management or continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of sustainability or energy management practices within facilities operations.
Strong problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Other:
Languages: Fluency in Japanese required; business‑level English required.
Travel: Limited; up to 15–25% regional (APAC) travel.
Certifications: Facilities Management or EHS certifications (e.g., IFMA, RICS, NEBOSH) preferred.
