About the opportunity

The University of Sydney is seeking a Manager Support Officer to join a collaborative team providing high-quality administrative support across our schools and centres.

In this role, you will become a trusted expert in university systems and processes, ensuring compliance and enabling efficient and consistent service delivery across the Faculty.

Please note: This role is based at the Susan Wakil Health Building and requires on-site attendance three days per week. Full-time on-site attendance (five days per week) is required during the initial training period.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • lead and coordinate day-to-day administrative support services, ensuring timely, accurate, and proactive assistance to academic and professional staff
  • provide expert guidance on university systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance and consistent application
  • resolve complex queries and issues with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgement
  • build and maintain strong working relationships with faculty staff, central services, and key stakeholders
  • identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and workflows, and contribute to implementing approved enhancements
  • foster a collaborative, service-focused team environment

About you

  • strong customer service skills with the ability to understand client needs and deliver effective, high-quality outcomes
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience managing enquiries in a professional environment
  • proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, showing initiative and sound judgement in problem-solving
  • strong organisational and prioritisation skills, particularly when managing competing demands in a busy environment
  • well-developed interpersonal skills, including negotiation, conflict resolution, and the ability to build effective working relationships and influence stakeholders

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
