Managing Consultant - Property Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Managing Consultant – Property Engineer based in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of property risk engineering, client consulting, and technical advisory services, supporting complex commercial and industrial accounts. You will be responsible for evaluating property risks related to fire, natural hazards, and other critical perils while delivering actionable recommendations that enhance safety and resilience. The position combines deep technical expertise with client-facing consulting, requiring the ability to translate engineering assessments into clear, high-value reports and strategic guidance. You will also coordinate project execution, manage deliverables, and ensure alignment with quality and compliance standards. Working closely with brokerage and client teams, you will contribute to business development efforts while strengthening long-term client relationships. Accountabilities:

  • Conduct technical property risk assessments focused on fire protection, natural hazards, and other relevant perils, providing expert-level recommendations.
  • Develop detailed engineering reports, plan review documentation, and consultative guidance aligned with industry and internal quality standards.
  • Manage project workplans, timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery of client engagements.
  • Collaborate with brokerage and client teams to support business development initiatives and improve client outcomes.
  • Maintain and strengthen long-term client relationships through consistent communication, problem-solving, and advisory support.
  • Apply recognized industry standards and frameworks (e.g., NFPA, FM Global) to assess risk and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent assignments while ensuring compliance with internal policies and risk improvement methodologies.

  • Requirements:

    • Minimum 7 years of experience in property risk engineering, risk management, or engineering consulting.
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (fire protection engineering, fire science, or related discipline preferred).
    • Strong understanding of property risk principles, fire protection systems, and natural hazard mitigation strategies.
    • Experience applying industry standards such as NFPA and FM Global in professional risk assessments.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing technical reports and client-facing deliverables.
    • Ability to manage projects independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
    • Strong client relationship management and business development skills are highly desirable.
    • NFPA Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) certification is a strong plus.
