Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary

Manufacturing Engineer will support production and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. This role focuses on process development, troubleshooting, and efficiency improvements while supporting both new product introduction and sustaining production. The ideal candidate is hands on, analytical, and motivated to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturing & Process Development:
    • Develop and implement cost effective manufacturing processes aligned with product specifications and quality standards
    • Evaluate manufacturability of engineering designs and recommend design or process improvements
    • Support transition of new products from engineering to production, including process validation, documentation, and work instruction development
    • Design, develop, and source tools, fixtures, and test equipment to support production needs
    • Establish manufacturing methods, process flows, and standard work instructions for assembly and testing
  • Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
    • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce cost, improve labor efficiency, and enhance product quality
    • Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to improve manufacturing processes and reduce waste
    • Establish and maintain time standards and analyze labor content for process optimization
    • Support Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance initiatives and track key metrics
    • Prepare cost justifications, capital requests, and process improvement summaries to support decision making
  • Production Support & Problem Solving
    • Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
    • Provide technical support and training to production personnel on processes and equipment
    • Improve first pass yield and reduce scrap and rework using data driven analysis
    • Maintain and update manufacturing documentation, including assembly instructions and process changes
  • Automation & Technology Integration
    • Support implementation of automation solutions including Cobots and advanced manufacturing technologies
    • Evaluate and integrate new equipment to improve throughput, quality, and cost performance
    • Assist with programming, troubleshooting, and calibration of automated systems and PLC applications
    • Develop equipment specifications, support vendor selection, and define implementation timelines

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field
  • 1 to 2 years of manufacturing engineering or related experience
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing methods, process design, and statistical process control
  • Experience with DFMEA, ISO 9001, and quality systems
  • Proficiency with CAD tools in 2D and 3D
  • Familiarity with machining, assembly, welding, and electro mechanical systems
  • Exposure to automation, robotics, and PLC programming
  • Understanding of GD and T and engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of production processes, materials, and cost drivers
  • Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma tools

Demonstrated ability to:

  • Analyze and solve complex manufacturing problems using data driven methods
  • Evaluate manufacturability and production impact of design changes
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast paced environment
  • Communicate effectively across production, engineering, and leadership teams
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, labor efficiency, and quality improvement

Preferred:

  • Experience with Cobots and integration into manufacturing systems
  • Hands on experience with tools for troubleshooting and equipment calibration
  • Ability to travel to vendors or customer sites as needed

Salary range: $80,000 to $90,000. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Compensation packages also include comprehensive benefits, 401K contribution and match, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and more. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs
