Job Description:
The LEAN – Takt/Capacity Engineer will be responsible for analyzing production capacity, aligning takt time with customer demand, and driving lean initiatives to optimize manufacturing efficiency. This role ensures that production systems are balanced, resources are effectively utilized, and continuous improvement practices are embedded across the factory.

Job Duties:
Takt Time & Capacity Planning
- Define and monitor takt time based on customer demand and production targets.
- Conduct capacity analysis to identify gaps between demand and available resources.
- Balance production lines to achieve optimal throughput and minimize bottlenecks.
Lean Manufacturing Implementation
- Lead lean projects focused on waste reduction, flow improvement, and productivity gains.
- Apply tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and 5S to enhance efficiency.
- Support standardization of work processes and continuous improvement of culture.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect and analyze production data to evaluate performance against takt and capacity.
- Develop dashboards and reports for management to support decision-making.
- Provide recommendations for manpower, equipment, and layout adjustments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to align capacity with business needs.
- Support new product introduction by ensuring takt and capacity requirements are met.
- Train and coach operators and supervisors on lean principles and takt-based production.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and takt/capacity planning.
- Experience in production line balancing and process optimization.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems for capacity planning.
- Familiarity with simulation tools for production modeling.
- Prior experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
