Manufacturing Engineer - Plant A

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with Management to develop solutions, programs and procedures.

•Maintain in depth knowledge of lean and manufacturing programs to eliminate paint booths bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Paint process balancing, setup reduction, higher yield, and space optimization.

•Work closely with Safety and Health departments to assure the production area, tooling and fixtures are designed ergonomically and safe.

•Develop cost reduction ideas through process design, acquisition of tooling, capital equipment or documentation improvements

•Provides day to day guidance to management and or associates on potential changes that impact production line volumes, quality, safety, or deliveries.

•Oversee the transition of products from internal and external sources to our manufacturing plant including, buy vs. make decisions and job move programs from other countries.

•Documentation of products through use of Bills of Materials, Routers, Value stream maps, Flow charts, spreadsheets drawings, videos or digital photos. Create Engineering deviations or change.

•Predicated, Preventative and Reacted maintenance of machinery and equipment. Setup programs that provide high OCE.

•Oversee capital equipment and small tooling required for assigned manufacturing or quality area. Maybe required to program, calibrate and adjust machines.

•Utilize software for documentation and drawing of products, Auto-Cad, PRO-E or other as required.

•Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.

•Implement appropriation requests for machines, software, or tooling through written documentation with supporting information.

•Guarantee the compliance of company procedures and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Manufacturing, Electrical or Industrial Engineering

  • At minimum of four (4) years of high-level experience in manufacturing or engineering
  • Ability to work in a large, global corporate structure
  • Self-starter. Ability to solve problems, take responsibility and deliver results with a spirit of innovation and strong commitment to excellence.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required (read, write and speak).
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office Software – advanced Power Point skills required.
  • Desirable experience using MRP or Enterprise systems in Engineering or Manufacturing
  • Experience in drafting tools such as PRO-E, Auto-Cad or others.
  • Familiar with electrical schematic a plus
  • Six Sigma or other SPC quality tools
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
