Manufacturing Manager
Job Summary
Directs the development and implementation of activities in production areas to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Plans and administers procedures and budgets. Makes budgetary recommendations and controls capital expenditures and labor. Develops schedules and manpower requirements. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple Production Cells to achieve operational excellence in production, safety, resource planning, productivity, yield, 5S, on-time delivery (OTD), and product quality
- Collaborate with supervisors to analyze production issues and implement corrective actions to meet budgets, schedules, and performance targets
- Provide technical leadership in manufacturing processes and maintain work-in-progress (WIP) and shop floor inventory with controlled material requisition issuance
- Assess manpower requirements and allocate work assignments to meet production objectives using push-pull methodologies
- Oversee staffing, training, and performance evaluations to enhance employee skills and support career development through regular reviews
- Establish operational goals and develop weekly production schedules aligned with business needs
- Identify and resolve quality and workmanship issues using Poka-Yoke or engineering-based solutions
- Plan production capacity to accommodate customer demand increases
- Drive and participate in continuous improvement initiatives plant-wide to reduce waste, costs, errors, and improve productivity, safety, and quality
- Apply thorough knowledge of production and process principles and manufacturing operations to optimize workflows
- Adhere to company policies, practices, and procedures while excelling in a cross-functional team environment
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing Technology
- Minimum 8 years of manufacturing management experience
- Proven ability to make independent, sound decisions and resourcefully resolve day-to-day issues
- Manufacturing experience in the semiconductor industry managing a team of over 180 staff at all levels
- Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills demonstrated in manufacturing contexts
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in operational decisions
- Proven leadership skills to evaluate, coach, and motivate employees effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with confident presentation abilities
