Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Project Manager to oversee custom electrical equipment projects from order release through production, shipment, and completion. This role serves as the central coordinator between engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, and operations to ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet customer requirements.

This position is best suited for someone with formal Project Manager experience leading manufacturing or engineered product projects. Candidates whose project management experience was only a small part of another role are unlikely to be successful in this position.

What You'll Do

  • Manage multiple manufacturing projects from order entry through fabrication, assembly, testing, shipment, and closeout
  • Develop project schedules, monitor milestones, and adjust timelines as production priorities change
  • Coordinate activities between engineering, purchasing, production, quality, logistics, and operations teams
  • Track project progress and identify risks that could impact cost, quality, or delivery schedules
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, and status reports
  • Lead project meetings and ensure action items are completed on time
  • Communicate project updates, schedule changes, and potential issues to leadership and internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate recovery plans when material shortages, production delays, or other challenges arise
  • Monitor manufacturing capacity and collaborate with production leaders to support scheduling decisions
  • Work with supply chain teams to monitor material availability and resolve procurement issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve scheduling, throughput, and project execution

    Projects may involve custom electrical and power distribution equipment, including:

    • Switchgear
    • Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
    • Remote Power Panels (RPPs)
    • Static Transfer Switches (STSs)
    • Modular power systems
    • Electrical enclosures
    • Busbar systems
    • Other engineered electrical products
    • The Project Manager will coordinate activities across sheet metal fabrication, busbar fabrication, welding, machining, mechanical assembly, testing, and final shipment.

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field (equivalent experience will also be considered)
  • 3–7 years of experience serving in a dedicated Project Manager role within manufacturing, production, or industrial operations
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems
  • Ability to build strong relationships across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and leadership teams
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting engineered electrical products such as switchgear, PDUs, RPPs, electrical enclosures, busbar systems, or control panels
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining, mechanical assembly, and production scheduling
  • Experience working in Engineer-to-Order (ETO) or Configure-to-Order (CTO) manufacturing environments
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and manufacturing routing structures
  • PMP certification or formal project management training
