Market Intelligence Analyst - Air & Ocean Freight
What You Can Expect:
You will be contributing to that vision by…
- analyzing existing market intelligence tools (Accenture Cargo, Sea Intelligence, Xeneta, Alphaliner, Panjiva, WACD, Rotate, TAC Index, etc.) and deriving market data and developments.
- managing relationships with market intelligence providers and collaborating with global, regional, and country air and ocean as well as trade managers to gather local market knowledge and understand local needs.
- monitoring macroeconomic developments using sources such as the IMF, World Bank, and S&P, and analyzing quarterly and annual results of listed airlines, ocean carriers, and competitors to extract relevant insights.
- creating and updating global air and ocean freight market updates and a regular newsletter, providing content to sales, product, and management teams on current and forward market developments.
- advising global, regional, and country air and ocean product teams on forward pricing, and producing on-demand reports, executive summaries, and studies complemented by internal BI data analysis.
- presenting market developments during regular regional product-sales broadcast calls together with regional or trade managers and supporting the development of focus trade lanes with internal and external insights.
- reading and filtering news portals (Air Cargo News, The Loadstar, LinkedIn
publishers, etc.), webinars from IATA, WorldACD, and other sources, and working up content for broader distribution. - delivering internal trainings for commercial and global product teams, sharing
intelligence and building market awareness across the organization.
What You Bring:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience with a minimum 2 years in air and/or ocean freight
- Have in-depth knowledge of the air and ocean freight industry and the ability to connect global geopolitical and market developments to freight trends
- Be strong in data analysis and visualization, with a working knowledge of MS Office, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Power BI
- Have the ability to see the “Big Picture” from both a commercial and operational perspective, and translate complex developments into simple but impactful messages
- Have excellent English skills (written and verbal) and a high level of curiosity, a can-do mentality, and a positive attitude
- Be able to work independently and show initiative, while also building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Have an outgoing personality with well-developed communication skills
- Be results driven and possess excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Be a team player with a strong interpersonal profile and a high level of self-motivation and initiative
