BAIN CAPITAL STRATEGY TEAM OVERVIEW
Bain Capital is seeking a manager to serve as a force multiplier to the Head of Strategy. This global, cross-platform, and cross-functional role spans private capital strategy, GP partnership development, new product development & implementation, and firm-level governance.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Develop and maintain peer analysis, including synthesizing quarterly statements and shareholder communications
- Track and analyze cross-industry product development, strategic acquisitions, and partnerships to generate actionable insights
- Collect and synthesize GP insights to inform potential acquisition opportunities
- Conduct research and analytics across the Strategy function, including rapid performance teardown, benchmarking, and LP surveys
- Translate complex, multi-source inputs into concise, decision-ready insights and recommendations
- Develop high-quality materials for senior leadership, including investment and strategic discussions
- Partner with the Head of Strategy, Investor Relations, and advisory partners to refine key questions and maintain a current view on market needs across institutional, private wealth, insurance, and banking channels
- Build and enhance frameworks, dashboards, and repeatable processes for market and peer intelligence
- Identify gaps in existing intelligence and establish new tracking and insight-generation mechanisms
- Support high-priority strategic initiatives, including new product development, GP evaluation, and channel strategy, through rigorous analysis and insight generation
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6-8 years of professional experience in a relevant role, including management consulting, placement agents and investment banking.
- Comfortable operating at all seniority levels; strong written and verbal communicator.
- Execution-driven, motivation to “get things done” to accelerate the firm’s overall strategic priorities and decision-making cycle
- Entrepreneurial mindset, self-starter who builds new structures from scratch and is comfortable operating without a well-defined playbook.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Compensation:
Expected Annual Base Salary $120,000 - $150,000
Actual base salary will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications and geographic location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance.
