To manage outstanding graphics and supporting Oceania Cruises’ communications, marketing and sales initiatives by managing relevant and engaging content for printed material and/or any onboard collateral.
Manage all digital content for use onboard.
Accountable for all aspects of conceptual graphic design, layout, production of print communications or adaptation of templates already in use following our branding guidelines.
The role is considered an extended part of our corporate branding team.
Responsibility and Authority
- Guest Experience
- Demonstrates genuine concern for guests’ wellbeing at all times;
- Operational and Administrative
- Work with the ship’s Systems Manager to ensure proper functioning of all equipment including collateral printers, PCs and required software (i.e., correct fonts installed) to ensure timely production and the highest-quality printed materials.
- Manage the DTP and all creative development.
- Maintain quality control by ensuring that the DTP adheres to provided Marketing templates and work with Corporate Marketing to develop new templates as needed.
- Work with the Corporate Marketing and DTP to fulfill job requests, ensuring that deliverables follow brand guidelines and are consistent fleetwide.
- Serve as back-up resource in the event DTP is unavailable to perform daily duties including but not limited to:
- Coordinate, design and production of all printed collateral, including Currents, as well as all onboard written communication including, but not limited to, letters, flyers, schedules, newspapers and other informational collateral in accordance with company branding guidelines.
- Design and production of all onboard signage following branding guidelines.
- Manage the collection and use of information to be included in the daily Currents, including port information, weather, activities, advertisements and service hours.
- Coordinate and update all onboard Wine and Bar lists with Head Sommelier (R-Class) or Executive Cellar Master (O-Class).
- Attend onboard Revenue Meetings, Ops Meetings and Senior Shipboard Management Meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- iTV/Video/Digital
- Manage all onboard interactive television content: images, graphics, health advisory messages, conversion of Currents ads and menus for the interactive television system.
- Ensure correct files, file sizes and resolution in TV conversion.
- Coordinate with Broadcast Manager to update onboard digital and video content to ensure approved marketing assets are being utilized and notify Corporate Marketing when updates are needed
- Serve as liaison between onboard video production and Corporate Marketing in providing creative approval for all onboard video production and video graphics including Social Media.
- Social Media Marketing
- Coordinate with the Oceania Club Ambassador (onboard sales and guest loyalty associate) in development of onboard marketing material, presentations and guest-driven social media event participation.
- Work with onboard officers (i.e., Cruise Director) to develop creative social engagement.
- Programming that helps convert guests and crew members into social media ambassadors.
- Partner with the corporate social media team members when implementing corporate and ship specific social media programs.
- Print
- Manage all print content in coordination with the DTP: Currents (shipboard daily newsletter) content and ads, presentations, menus, signage, in-suite collateral, flyers, letters, cards etc.
- Finance
- Responsible for approving all supply orders placed by DTP, ensuring appropriate inventory levels are maintained with minimal waste.
- Work directly with Hotel Inventory Controller to ensure all pre-printed collateral used onboard is most current.
- Training and Development
- Train new Marketing Specialists.
- Work directly with DTP to ensure continuity of operation if Creative Graphic Designer is unable to execute the job.
- Complete appraisal for DTP with input from the General Manager.
- Ensure adherence to the company defined appraisal system.

Education and Experience
- Systems
- Fluency in PC environment
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
- Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)
- Familiar with basic printing (color printer and duplicator)
- Education and Experience
- Certification in Graphic Design
- Previous work experience and portfolio of design work
- Strong photography and video skills
- Experience with web-based content management tools
- Strong creative writing skills
- Familiarity with Cruise Industry preferred
- Must have a strong understanding of corporate branding and brand guidelines to ensure that design solutions meet brand standards and requirements (style, structure, tone, etc.)
- Strong design, understanding of visual hierarchy on a printed page, typography and photo-retouching skills
