Markets & Derivatives Senior Counsel
You will act as a strategic legal advisor on market and derivatives transaction matters. You will advise on ISDAs, CSAs, trade confirmations, prime brokerage agreements, lending and vendor transactions and on swap dealer rules. You will negotiate documentation with hedge funds, crypto native firms, investment companies, miners and other counterparties. You will coordinate resources and manage outside counsel engagement, collaborate with other functions to escalate issues, and help implement global regulatory and market changes affecting trading and documentation. You will draft and negotiate nondisclosure agreements, manage high volume workflows, support special projects, and responsibly adopt AI tools to improve productivity and decision making.
Responsibilities
- Advise on ISDAs and CSAs
- Advise on swap dealer rules
- Negotiate trade confirmations prime brokerage and lending documentation with counterparties
- Coordinate negotiations and manage outside counsel engagement
- Collaborate with functional partners to escalate and resolve issues
- Implement global regulatory and market changes affecting trading and documentation
- Draft and negotiate nondisclosure agreements
- Manage workflow and maintain responsiveness reliability and accountability
- Support special projects and assigned activities
- Adopt and leverage AI tools to improve productivity and output quality
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years experience at a financial institution with additional experience at a top tier law firm
- Over 6 years of transactional experience reviewing financial transaction agreements primarily ISDA CSA trade confirmations and prime brokerage agreements
- Product knowledge and transactional or regulatory experience within OTC derivatives and swap dealer businesses
- Experience in traditional financial markets preferably at a sell side bank supporting derivative desks
- Ability to apply traditional financial legal concepts within the crypto space
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced legal environment
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail
- Self starter who takes initiative
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Active membership in the New York state bar
