POSITION SUMMARY:
To safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment and coordinate material movement within the facility (either using equipment or physical labor as required). These duties will include but are not limited to inventory verification, cycle counting, moving, storing, organizing and distributing materials to support business activities. In addition, the person will perform other material handling functions as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
Transport parts within the manufacturing facility to the next operation and/or shipping & inventory areas by operating a forklift truck or other motorized equipment.
Distribute material to the next operation based on proper stock rotation.
Determine the distance between objects.
React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
Maintain a neat & orderly facility by following all established material stocking parameters and correcting any non-conformities as soon as possible.
Stack pallets or other items for movement operating a forklift truck. This may entail getting off the fork truck.
Conduct and document forklift inspection at beginning of shift.
Perform audit checks as necessary to confirm part identification.
Conform to Teamwork efforts of the company.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates must have a demonstrated record of taking initiative, following directions and meeting goals and objectives. The ability to learn new tasks quickly and work in a fast-paced team environment is critical. Exceptional organizational skills are a must. The ability to safely operate a forklift; forklift license or prior forklift experience is a must. Qualified candidates must also have a good attendance record and a positive outlook. You must be able to work independently. Experience with computers is preferred as cross training is a critical component of this position.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AS400 Inventory software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Forklift License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position operates within a manufacturing plant environment. The role involves interactions with employees and managers. The job requires some repetitive tasks, standing and ability to lift up to 40 pounds. See CVG physical demands analysis for the position.
