Materials Planner
Job responsibilities
- Manage purchase requisition, follow up on purchase order and order acknowledgement from suppliers
- Review of monthly actual consumption and compare with forecast
- Establish min and max level of raw materials inventory and timely replenish inventory
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure safety stock is maintained by suppliers to ensure continuity in material supply
- Trigger delivery of material under consignment programme, maintain consumption record and validate supplier invoice
- Process inter-company orders
- Provide material forecast based on S&OP production plan to suppliers and raise purchase requisition
- Facilitation transition of end of life material to new material ramp up
- Prepare monthly reports
- Monitor stock of chemicals and compliant to hazardous material regulations
- Track inbound and outbound freight costs and validate freight invoices
- Facilitate logistics and freight related matters
- Any other task or project as assigned by Supervisor
Job requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management / Business Management / Engineering or equivalent
- APICS CPIM certified will be advantageous
- Minimum 5 years of experience preferably in similar role in manufacturing plant environment
- Experience in production or material planning, preferably in similar role
- Planning production using MRP system (QAD, SAP or similar)
- Advanced level in Microsoft Excel application
- Lean methodology and tools in logistics
- Good communications and interpersonal skills
