Position: Mathematics Teacher \- Cycle 2
Our esteemed international school in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced and passionate Mathematics Teacher for Cycle 2 Grades 5\-8. The ideal candidate will foster a dynamic and engaging learning environment, inspiring students to develop a deep understanding and appreciation for mathematics, while adhering to ADEK standards and international best practices.
Requirements:
\u2022 Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education with a Mathematics specialization, or a closely related field from a recognized university.
A recognized postgraduate teaching qualification e.g., PGCE, B.Ed, M.Ed or valid teaching license/certification from a Western country.
Qualified Teacher Status QTS from the UK, or equivalent certification, is highly desirable.
\u2022 Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of full\-time, post\-qualification teaching experience as a Mathematics Teacher in Cycle 2 Grades 5\-8 equivalent or Key Stage 2/3.
Demonstrated experience in an international school setting is preferred.
Proven track record of raising student attainment and fostering a positive learning environment.
Experience in designing and implementing engaging extra\-curricular activities related to mathematics or STEM.
\u2022 Skills Required:
Pedagogical Excellence: Strong classroom management, differentiated instruction strategies, and ability to cater to diverse learning needs including EAL and SEND students.
Technical Proficiency: Competent in using educational technology, Learning Management Systems LMS \- e.g., Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, and interactive whiteboards.
Assessment & Data Analysis: Skilled in formative and summative assessment design, data interpretation, and using data to inform teaching and track student progress.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
Collaboration: A team player, willing to collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the wider school community.
Cultural Sensitivity: High degree of adaptability, resilience, and cultural awareness appropriate for living and working in the UAE.
\u2022 Knowledge of Curriculum:
In\-depth knowledge and proven experience teaching one of the following international curricula for Mathematics at Cycle 2/Key Stage 2/3:
British Curriculum: UK National Curriculum for Mathematics.
American Curriculum: Common Core State Standards CCSS for Mathematics.
International Baccalaureate IB: IB Middle Years Programme MYP Mathematics.
\u2022 UAE\-Specific Requirements:
Thorough understanding and commitment to adhering to all Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge ADEK regulations, policies, and inspection framework.
Ability to obtain all necessary UAE security clearances, including a Good Conduct Certificate.
Capacity to meet all requirements for a UAE employment visa, including attested educational degrees and professional certificates from the country of origin.
Successfully pass a UAE government medical fitness test.
