Mathematics Tutor (Part-time/Freelance)

About the Role

Are you passionate about making complex mathematical concepts simple? Tim Gan Math Learning Centre is seeking a high-calibre Mathematics Specialist to join our teaching team. We are looking for an educator who possesses a deep mastery of the Singapore curriculum and a genuine desire to see students excel.

Key Responsibilities

Lesson Delivery: Prepare and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons aligned with our established curriculum, pedagogy, and resources.

Resource Development: Exercise your creativity by developing supplementary resources and assessments to further support student learning when necessary.

Hybrid Classroom Management: Effectively manage and teach small groups of up to 10 students in a hybrid environment (balancing both physical and online attendees).

Progress Tracking: Closely monitor individual student performance and provide actionable feedback to ensure continuous improvement.

Parental Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with parents by providing regular updates on their child’s academic progress.

Professional Independence: Take full ownership of your assigned classes, ensuring a high standard of education and responsibility for every student.

Requirements

Educational Background: At least an undergraduate degree, preferably in Mathematics or an Education-related field. NIE/MOE-trained educators are a bonus.

Undergraduate Students: We welcome applications from current undergraduates who are graduating within the next 1 to 2 years. High-performing candidates will be considered for conversion to full-time positions upon graduation.

Syllabus Mastery: Expert-level familiarity with the Singapore O-Level Elementary (E-Math) and Additional Mathematics (A-Math) syllabus.

Teaching Experience: A minimum of 2 years of Mathematics teaching experience (Public school or private tuition sector).

Communication: Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Commitment: Ability to commit to at least one full academic year.

Schedule: Availability for weekday evenings and/or weekends.

Professionalism: A respectful teammate who treats all staff, students, and parents with the utmost professional courtesy.
