Mechanical Engineer

Duration: 12 Months (Strong possibility of extension)

• Following an analysis led design approach assist with design and analysis of after treatment systems. Work in a multi functional team to optimize designs, prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information.

• Possesses technical skills, including the knowledge of design and analysis techniques, drawing reading, preparation and release.

Major job duties and responsibilities:

• Research, design, develop, support manufacture, and test for large diesel engine after treatment systems

• Research and analyze design proposals and specifications to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects

• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations

• Assist designers in developing the structural design of products using the appropriate tools, equipment and/or software

• Interface with manufacturing and suppliers to insure producible designs.

• Prepare and present design reviews for responsible areas followed by design release including drawing preparation, checking, and release through the Product Data Management (PDM) system.

• Guide and assist with product testing and manufacture.

• A Bachelor degree in engineering is required for this role, no exceptions. Manager would like to see degrees in ME or an equivalent, machine design, industrial, etc.

• Manager would like to see candidates with 5-7 years’ applicable experience in their background

• Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports

“Nice to have experience” includes the following:

• Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD)

• Familiar with design and analysis tools such as CREO and ANSYS

• Familiar with Six Sigma tools
