MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
Key Responsibilities
- Prototype Development and Testing: Assisting engineers in assembling, testing, and modifying prototypes to ensure they meet design specifications, and collecting performance data for analysis Career Explorer
- Equipment Installation and Maintenance: Installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining mechanical systems and industrial equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, HVAC systems, lifts, and escalators Job Descriptions, Resumes, and Career Resources
- CAD and Technical Documentation: Using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify engineering drawings, interpreting technical blueprints, and maintaining detailed records of procedures, test results, and equipment performance Career Explorer
- Quality Control and Inspection: Conducting inspections of materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and safety standards Career Explorer
- Collaboration with Engineers: Working closely with mechanical engineers to implement design changes, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support throughout the development and manufacturing process
