This is a hands-on field position suited to an engineer with a strong understanding of construction practices, the ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines, and a proactive approach to resolving on-site mechanical challenges.
Key Responsibilities

- Review and interpret IFC drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, HVAC and plumbing drawings, equipment layouts, and technical specifications.
- Verify that field installations align with design documentation and identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Assist in resolving RFIs, technical queries, design conflicts, constructability issues, and field changes.
- Identify and escalate technical, quality, safety, or schedule risks to the Mechanical or Construction Manager.
- Monitor construction progress and report delays, deviations, or potential project impacts.
- Participate in coordination meetings, technical reviews, and site walkdowns with multidisciplinary teams.
- Conduct field inspections and quality checks across mechanical installations and system interfaces.
- Support testing, flushing, cleaning, leak testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and final system turnover.
- Track and verify closure of punch list items and support project close-out activities.
- Ensure adherence to HSE requirements, including permits to work, hot work, confined space entry, lifting operations, pressure testing safety, and LOTO procedures.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with all stakeholders and ensure timely documentation and issue resolution.
Required Qualifications

- Solid understanding of installation practices, construction sequencing, QA/QC processes, and project turnover.

- Experience with testing, commissioning, and system turnover processes.
- Familiarity with BIM and construction management tools such as Navisworks, AutoCAD, Procore, Aconex, or Bluebeam.
