Join multidisciplinary EPC projects within the water, wastewater, environmental, energy, and sustainable infrastructure sectors, where you will supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment, piping systems, and electro-mechanical installations from construction through project handover.

These projects combine civil, mechanical, process, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines and are delivered from detailed engineering through procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
Your Role
As Mechanical & Piping Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment, piping systems, valves, steel structures, and associated electro-mechanical works on site.
You will ensure that all activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, project schedules, and budget requirements. In addition to site supervision, you will support technical coordination, supplier follow-up, quality control activities, and commissioning to ensure successful project delivery.
Location & Travel
This role combines office-based work, home office, and regular presence on project sites.
- Regular travel to project sites within Belgium is required.
- Occasional travel to suppliers, fabrication facilities, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) may be required.
- Flexibility to spend extended periods on site during critical construction, commissioning, and start-up phases is expected.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical Coordination
- Coordinate and follow up piping and mechanical engineering activities during project execution.
- Review technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and supplier documentation.
- Identify technical conflicts and propose practical solutions during construction.
- Coordinate interfaces between mechanical, process, civil, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Support constructability reviews and ensure installation activities align with project requirements.
- Follow up detailed engineering deliverables, including piping layouts, supports, stress considerations, and installation requirements.
- Support technical evaluations of suppliers and subcontractors.
- Review technical offers and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate technical approvals and supplier documentation.
- Follow up fabrication progress and equipment delivery schedules.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) when required.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented and documented.
- Supervise daily site activities related to piping and mechanical installations.
- Coordinate subcontractors and site teams.
- Monitor installation progress against project schedules.
- Ensure works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Verify site readiness before installation activities commence.
- Resolve technical and operational issues arising during execution.
- Monitor site productivity and support planning optimization.
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements and procedures.
- Monitor welding activities, inspections, pressure testing, and mechanical completion activities.
- Ensure compliance with PED requirements and applicable standards.
- Identify, track, and close non-conformities.
- Participate in inspections, testing activities, and punch-list management.
- Ensure all quality documentation is properly maintained and completed.
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate mechanical completion and system handover activities.
- Assist in troubleshooting during start-up.
- Ensure completion of commissioning documentation and turnover dossiers.
- Support operational readiness activities where required.
- Monitor progress against schedules and budgets.
- Identify potential delays, risks, and mitigation actions.
- Support the management of variations and change requests.
- Contribute to project reporting and progress tracking.
- Assist in monitoring subcontractor performance and contractual obligations.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent through experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical and piping installation projects within water treatment, wastewater treatment, environmental, industrial, or process industries.
- Experience supervising subcontractors and coordinating site activities.
- Experience with commissioning and start-up activities is considered a strong asset.
- Experience within EPC project environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of industrial piping systems and mechanical equipment installation.
- Good understanding of welding procedures, pressure testing, and quality control requirements.
- Familiarity with PED requirements and applicable international standards.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and instrumentation.
- Experience in water treatment, environmental infrastructure, or industrial process projects is considered an asset.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Hands-on and solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Strong focus on quality, safety, and project delivery.
- Team player with a proactive approach.
- Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
- Knowledge of all three languages is required.
