Mechanical Systems Design Engineer
You will brainstorm, design, develop and characterize metrology equipment used to calibrate and test Apple’s new groundbreaking technology and products. Your design work will range from lab scale systems-- understanding and characterizing tool capability at sub-micron mechanical tolerances, to developing automated mass- production measurement tools, where balancing the engineering tradeoffs between precision, costs, lead-time and throughput is critical. With great diversity of the problem space, you will rely on your engineering background to architect the optimal solution for the problem at hand, leaning on the fundamentals of materials science, structural and thermal analysis, machinery design, automation and manufacturing processes. You will work collaboratively with a creative and diverse team of experienced engineers from all disciplines including instrumentation, core technology, product design and operations teams developing state of the art measurement systems for Apple.
