We’re currently looking for a Mechatronics Engineer in Preston, Victoria.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement of production processes and equipment performance.
  • Deliver engineering projects and manage operational impacts.
  • Enhance product quality, productivity, and compliance with standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise to optimise plant performance and reliability

Indicative tasks include (but not limited to)

  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, promote safe work practices, and support risk reduction across the site.
  • Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and provide technical support across operations.
  • Develop and improve procedures, project governance, documentation, and reporting processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and support engineering projects, equipment upgrades, and commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical expertise to optimise equipment performance and ensure products meet required specifications.
  • Support consistent product quality through reliable processes, effective problem-solving, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and contribute to ongoing quality and process improvement initiatives.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • PLC programming capabilities. Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckoff.
  • Excellent communication, strong analytical skills and a high level of initiative with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Sound decision‑making skills with the ability to make timely and practical judgments.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and absorb information and take accountability for tasks.
  • Solid understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and its application in the workplace.
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing operations, processes, and production environments.
