Role Summary and Impact

We are looking for an Account Manager, Media Solutions to join our team. This is a senior hybrid role that combines strategic account management with high-impact client engagement and solutions advocacy. You will own and nurture key relationships with WPP agency teams and clients, acting as a trusted partner who deeply understands their needs and proactively identifies opportunities to expand how WPP Media's solutions can support their goals. Alongside this, you will maintain a solid understanding of the programmatic landscape to ensure your recommendations are credible, relevant, and commercially sound.

We are looking for a relationship-driven, commercially aware individual with a consultative approach, natural curiosity about client needs, and the confidence to grow partnerships in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

Responsibilities of the role:

Account Management & Client Growth:

  • Own and manage a portfolio of WPP agency and client accounts, building deep, trusted relationships that position you as their go-to partner for programmatic and media solutions.
  • Take a consultative approach to understanding agency and client challenges, goals, and planning cycles — using these insights to recommend relevant solutions from the WPP Media portfolio.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to deepen and expand existing partnerships through tailored recommendations, new product introductions, and strategic conversations.
  • Develop and deliver compelling proposals and presentations that clearly articulate how WPP Media's solutions can address client needs and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Manage regular touchpoints, QBRs, and strategic reviews with agency and client stakeholders, keeping WPP Media's capabilities and value front of mind.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of growth opportunities, tracking progress and contributing to revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with internal product and strategy teams to shape solutions and packages that respond to market and client demand.

Client & Agency Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate strong, senior-level relationships with WPP agency teams and clients, earning trust through responsiveness, strategic thinking, and consistent delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and escalation point for your accounts, ensuring a seamless and positive client experience at every stage.
  • Lead the translation of agency/client needs into clear briefs and programmatic recommendations, working closely with the delivery and operations teams.
  • Collaborate with client and market teams to ensure smooth end-to-end workflows across briefing, booking, setup, optimisation, and reporting.
  • Build effective cross-functional partnerships with creative agencies, ad operations, and internal stakeholders to support campaign success.
  • Oversee sales administration processes for your accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency.

Programmatic Knowledge & Strategic Oversight:

  • Maintain a solid working understanding of programmatic platforms including Display & Video 360, Campaign Manager, The Trade Desk, and Google Analytics — enabling informed and credible client conversations.
  • Understand key programmatic concepts including DSPs/SSPs, RTB, ad exchanges, audience targeting, Brand Safety, Viewability, and Ad Fraud to effectively position solutions and address client questions.
  • Provide strategic input on campaign briefs and media plans, ensuring alignment with client objectives and commercial goals.
  • Translate campaign performance data into clear, insight-led narratives that reinforce value and support growth conversations with clients.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging solutions, and competitor activity to maintain credibility and identify new opportunities.

Measures of Success

In three months:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of WPP Media's clients, brands, products, solutions portfolio, and commercial landscape.
  • Establish credibility and build strong working relationships with WPP agency teams, client stakeholders, and internal colleagues.
  • Conduct a full review of assigned accounts to understand current engagement and identify early opportunities for deeper partnership.

In six months:

  • Be recognised as a trusted partner by agency and client teams — someone they proactively turn to for solutions and strategic input.
  • Demonstrate measurable growth in account engagement, with new opportunities identified and progressed.
  • Show strong command of WPP Media's solutions portfolio and the ability to match the right solutions to client needs.

In 12 months:

  • Establish yourself as a key strategic contributor to planning and growth discussions for assigned agencies and accounts.
  • Demonstrate a track record of expanding client relationships and increasing the adoption of WPP Media's solutions within your portfolio.
  • Identify and implement improvements to account management processes that drive efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to broader business development and go-to-market initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in digital media or ad tech, with demonstrable experience in account management, client partnerships, or a client-facing growth role — preferably within a media agency, trading desk, ad network, or solutions provider.
  • Proven ability to grow and expand client relationships — a natural at identifying needs and connecting them to the right solutions.
  • Strong commercial awareness — comfortable managing revenue targets and contributing to pipeline growth as part of your account responsibilities.
  • Solid understanding of the programmatic landscape (DSPs/SSPs, RTB, ad exchanges, audience targeting, Brand Safety, Viewability) — enough to have credible, informed conversations; deep technical expertise is a plus but not essential.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills — able to build trust quickly and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills — able to present solutions clearly and tailor messaging to different audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong numerical and commercial acuity with the ability to manage accounts and report on growth metrics.
  • Highly organised, solutions-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strategic thinker with a consultative mindset and a genuine interest in helping clients succeed.
