Medical Advisor Neurology

We are looking for a Medical Advisor Neurology to join our Medical team and serve as the scientific and medical voice for our neurology portfolio — with a particular focus on Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders. This is a high-impact role that blends scientific expertise with hands-on project management, cross-functional collaboration, and meaningful external engagement.

If you thrive at the intersection of medicine and execution; leading complex programs, building relationships with experts and driving medical strategy, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

Patient Support Program Management

  • Lead the end-to-end management of a patient support program, with accountability for both internal and external project management
  • Manage external relationships and ensure delivery against program milestones and quality standards
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across Legal, Data Security, Finance, Compliance, and Commercial to align on program governance and execution
  • Drive cross-functional project plans, ensuring timely delivery, risk mitigation, and clear communication across workstreams

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the medical voice within Brand Teams, contributing to strategy and key initiatives
  • Partner with colleagues across functions to identify opportunities and deliver on objectives
  • Oversee the review and approval of promotional, educational, and patient-facing materials
  • Support internal medical training for AbbVie staff

Scientific & Clinical Programs

  • Co-manage national clinical education programs and ensure validity of scientific content
  • Build and oversee local clinical/scientific programs in line with Brand Team and corporate requirements
  • Monitor competitor intelligence and the evolving scientific landscape in Parkinson's and Movement Disorders

Medical Strategy & External Engagement

  • Shape and execute the medical strategy for the neurology portfolio as defined in the Brand and Medical Plans
  • Build credible, long-term relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, External Experts, and academic centres
  • Represent AbbVie at scientific congresses, advisory boards, and symposia
  • Identify opportunities for collaborative medical/scientific programs with clinical groups

Skills

  • Strong project management skills — able to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Excellent communicator — comfortable translating scientific data for both expert and non-expert audiences
  • Skilled at building and maintaining senior-level relationships internally and externally
  • Able to operate effectively in a matrixed organisation and navigate commercial, legal, and compliance environments

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent clinical/scientific background
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, ideally including patient programs, clinical education, medical affairs or cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience working in a matrix organization

Education & Background

  • Scientific education/background in a relevant therapy area or field
  • Solid understanding of GCP, clinical research methods, and pharmaceutical industry standards
  • Knowledge of pharmacovigilance obligations
  • Fluency in English and German required
