JOB SUMMARY
Delivers quality medication administration services consistent within the scope of practice and adhering to established company protocols.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Administration of medication by the following routes: oral, rectal, vaginal, optic, ophthalmic, nasal, topical, transdermal, buccal, sublingual, aerosol, nebulizer, and oral metered dose inhalers
- Document medication administration, side effects of medication, refusals, and counseling
- Pre-package medications for administration in areas outside the medical unit as required
- Count controlled substances with oversight by an RN or LPN
- Communicate with RN/LPN regarding medication concerns such as adverse effects, non-compliance, or potential safety issues
- Reporting of medication errors or potential medication errors to RN/LPN
- Provides safe and effective care and assumes responsibility for the care delivered
- Takes and documents vital signs, height, and weight
- Assists with electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs)
- Measures and records intake and output
- Schedules appointments
- Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
- Follows security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications
- Performs other duties as assigned
