Medior Software Engineer
The Emerson Test & Measurement (NI) Transportation Systems R&D team has an opening for a Medior Software Engineer. In this role, you will work in research, design and development of software solutions from concept to release, contributing as a member of the development team while learning about the transportation domain and building your skills.
You will develop software for state-of-the-art test platforms that automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers use to create and test innovative new generation vehicle architectures.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Independently contribute to the research, design and development of software components and features through to final release
- Ensure adherence to development processes and best practices
- Facilitate decisions necessary to deliver a quality product in a timely fashion
- Review work quality and provide mentorship

For This Role, You Will Need:
- BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Demonstrated success and experience using high-level programming languages (C++, Python)
- 2+ years of experience in software and systems development
- Strong understanding of system design, development and testing principles
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability and sense of urgency
- Ability to work effectively individually and in a team
- Ability to learn fast
- English language competency and excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Understanding of transportation industry, ADAS, HIL (Hardware in the Loop) systems, vehicle bus architectures
- Experience with NI products, including LabVIEW, LabVIEW FPGA and VeriStand
- Experience in Agile methodologies and using Azure DevOps
- Proven experience in development of integrated hardware and software projects
