Member of Technical Staff, Reporting & Statements (Data Engineer)

You will design and build the systems that power financial reports and statements, creating centralized, framework-based delivery and automated validation to guarantee accuracy and consistency. You will design trusted data models for downstream teams and external APIs, navigate complex product data streams, and create self-service frameworks so other teams can add report types via configuration. You will work with product stakeholders to standardize financial data capture, proactively address scaling needs, and advocate for Data as a Product and high engineering standards. You will use Python and modern data tooling to implement performant, extensible solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build centralized reporting systems
  • Evolve architecture from decentralized scripts to a framework based delivery system
  • Build automated validation and reconciliation to eliminate manual oversight
  • Design data models as a trusted shared source of truth
  • Apply consistent logic across multiple product data streams
  • Standardize capture and representation of financial data with Product and Foundations teams
  • Create self-service frameworks for adding new report types via configuration
  • Listen to product stakeholders and address scaling needs
  • Advocate for Data as a Product principles and high quality engineering standards

Requirements

  • 7+ years building data systems and internal tools or frameworks
  • Experience handling high scale data systems (10x scale)
  • Financial domain experience and familiarity with precision required for statements
  • Systems thinking and emphasis on extensible systems over one-off pipelines
  • Proficiency with Python (Pandas, Polars, Arrow) and SQL
  • Experience with BigQuery or similar cloud data warehouses
  • Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster
