As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you serve as a Christ-centered role model, mentor, and advocate for men pursuing long-term recovery at The Potter’s House. You walk alongside clients through their spiritual, emotional, and recovery journeys—helping them regain independence, strengthen community, and take ownership of their transformation process. By sharing your lived experience and offering consistent support, you help create a recovery-driven, therapeutic environment where lasting change is possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
12-Step & Recovery Coaching

Walk clients individually through the AA 12 Steps, utilizing Power to Choose by Mike S. O’Neil.

Facilitate client classes, curriculum-based sessions, and recovery-focused process groups.

Support clients in maintaining stability in their recovery and achieving personal, spiritual, and program outcomes.

Utilize personal experience in long-term recovery to coach clients toward healthy progress and accountability.
Mentorship, Relationship Building & Spiritual Support

Build durable, supportive relationships with clients while maintaining professional boundaries.

Serve as a spiritual mentor guiding clients through faith-based elements of their recovery journey.

Support clients in restoring and strengthening family relationships during their stay.

Provide encouragement, challenge, and motivation using recovery-appropriate coaching techniques.
Client Success & Program Operations

Guide daily and weekly client activities that contribute to success, accountability, and goal completion.

Collaborate regularly with the interdisciplinary team (case management, clinical, spiritual life, operations) to ensure continuity of care.

Coordinate and monitor client attendance for internal classes, services, community events, and external appointments.

Assist clients in arranging transportation and provide transportation when needed.
Documentation & Data Integrity

Prepare individual reports and maintain high standards of accuracy and professionalism in documentation.

Document client progress, milestones, concerns, and interventions using approved client management systems.

Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with all organizational and program policies.
