Meter Fitter

To install and maintain electrical energy meters at customer installations across the island of Guernsey. The work is normally carried out in customer premises in accordance with set Safety rules and procedures. The post holder must be able to deal with the customers in a polite and effective manner.

1. To install/replace energy metering equipment including single and polyphase meters to enable accurate billing. To ensure that the installation is fit for purpose and up to the latest installation standards. Potential progression to Larger CT metering for Commercial Installations,

2. To modify electronic pre-payment equipment when required to specific installation instructions.

3. To maintain Metering communication infrastructure connected to LV Distribution Network.

4. To always ensure compliance with Guernsey Electricity safety rules while working on live equipment.

5. To investigate and report fraudulent activity when visiting customers premises.

6. To promote the company and all its service offerings and provide customer with advice on GEL equipment installed and how to operate in an efficient way.

7. To ensure completion of all administration works to enable accurate and up to date information at all times.

· Good understanding of Windows based systems

· Ability to follow instructions and processes accurately

· A commitment to H&S and the ability to complete daily risk assessments

· Reliable and hard working

· An ability to interact with our customers and colleagues while demonstrating a professional outlook.

· A positive attitude towards learning new skills

Clean category B Driving Licence.
