Miltton’s paid six-month Trainee Program in Helsinki is a deep dive into one of the fastest-growing consultancies in the Nordics.

From day one, you’ll get real responsibility. You will not just be observing from the sidelines, but working on projects across sectors, teams and disciplines. It will be fast-paced, occasionally intense, and very hands-on. You’ll have the support of ~200 colleagues and your own tutor, but we expect you to take ownership early.

What you’ll do

As a trainee, you might work on various tasks and Miltton businesses e.g.:

Client management and sales

Supporting client relationships, identifying new opportunities, contributing to proposals, sales processes, and client work

Project management

Coordinating complex client work, keeping things on track, and making sure ideas actually turn into something

Project management in annual reporting projects

Influencers & Social

Strategy, research, transformation and leadership

Conducting research and analyses, keeping things on track, and helping clients face transformations from new strategic directions to cultural shifts and brand renewals

Public affairs

Helping companies navigate regulation, reputation, and big societal questions

Global affairs & geopolitics

Supporting clients recognise and respond to the global forces that affect them.

Digital & AI-driven work

Building, testing and rethinking how communication is done

Supporting financial processes such as invoicing, accounting and reporting, helping keep numbers accurate and business running smoothly

The number of open positions is approximately 10-20. Please note that due to certain projects, most of our trainee positions require Finnish language skills.

What we’re looking for

We’re not looking for a specific background, we’re looking for how you think and how you work.

Things that matter to us:

  • You take initiative and move things forward

  • You’re curious and you don’t stop at the first obvious answer

  • You can deal with ambiguity (there may be plenty)

  • You collaborate well

  • You can turn ideas into something concrete

  • You’re interested in sales, client relationships and what creates value for clients

  • We’re interested in how you approach problems, not just what you already know.

The process

After the initial application phase, we’ll invite around 100 applicants to something we call Miltton Onsite (Thu 20 Aug 2026).

A four-hour recruitment evening where you don’t just talk about what you can do, you show it.

  • You’ll work on a real case

  • In a small team, with people you’ve just met

  • Across one of our business areas

  • With a fully open brief (no “right” answer)

What matters to us isn’t the final pitch, it’s everything that happens on the way there.

How to apply

  • Tell us why you’re interested in the Trainee Program at Miltton and what kinds of tasks you thrive in. Be as concrete as possible when describing your skills and areas of interest.

  • We’re also keen to hear about any special competences you may have. If you have references or work samples, feel free to attach them to your application.

  • If you’ve applied AI in a unique or impactful way, we’d love to hear about it – what you did, why you did it, and what the outcome was.

  • Please send your application and CV by August 2, 2026, in either Finnish or English.

  • We’ll be in touch with all applicants during August.

  • The most suitable candidates will be invited to our Miltton Onsite event in August and to interviews held in August and September.

  • Our aim is to make final decisions during September.

The first stage of recruitment will be anonymous. Our recruitment system will automatically anonymise your CV and personal details, but please ensure that you do not include identifying information (such as your name) in your cover letter or other attached files.

Trainees typically work full-time with us for six months, starting in October. The starting date is negotiable – please let us know in your application if an earlier or later start would work better for you.

We have flexible hybrid working practices, meaning remote work is possible. However, due to the nature of the Trainee Program, we encourage you to immerse yourself in the working community at our Helsinki office. Some events and tasks – such as onboarding and certain project or client meetings – will require in-person attendance. Please note that our trainees receive a monthly salary of EUR 1,500.
