GHD is seeking a Project Manager with demonstrated experience delivering environmental remediation programs at legacy mine and industrial sites, ideally within CERCLA, RCRA, or state-led Superfund frameworks, to join our Contamination Assessment and Remediation Group. This role will lead delivery of complex mine closure and reclamation projects across North America, with a focus on regulatory-driven remediation, risk management, and long-term site stewardship of inactive or transitioning mining assets. Operating within a portfolio-driven delivery model, you will translate client objectives into coordinated execution across multi-site remediation programs, managing assessment, cleanup, and compliance activities aligned with federal and state regulatory requirements.

As a Project Manager, you will provide oversight across concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with client priorities, regulatory obligations, and program-level performance targets. This role goes beyond traditional project delivery, requiring active management of risk, stakeholder expectations, and program predictability in dynamic operating environments.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Initiate and plan projects using disciplined project management practices (scope confirmation, WBS, schedule, risk planning, onboarding).
  • Manage execution and controls: track progress, issues, changes, and dependencies; maintain project records in the project workspace for traceability.
  • Coordinate communications and reporting cadence; maintain deadline control for regulatory and client reporting obligations.
  • Manage vendors and subcontractors under defined procedures; ensure work plans and outputs follow required verification pathways.
  • Support digital field data collection and standardized reporting workflows; contribute to dashboards and evidence packs used for program and project visibility.
  • Prepare deliverables and ensure they are ready for check/review and director approval prior to external use.
  • Escalate risks and deviations early using leading indicators and agreed thresholds to support ‘no surprises’ delivery.
  • Close out projects with complete documentation, lessons learned, and handoff as required

What you will bring to the team:

  • Demonstrated experience managing environmental remediation programs or closely related environmental regulatory compliance projects, including investigation, remedy implementation, and long-term site management at legacy mine or industrial sites.
  • Working knowledge of CERCLA, RCRA, and/or state-led Superfund programs, including regulatory drivers, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations.
  • Experience delivering projects within mine closure and reclamation frameworks, with an understanding of risk-based cleanup and long-term stewardship considerations.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-site or program-level work, including coordination of field teams, technical specialists, and subcontractors across concurrent remediation projects.
  • Strong project controls capability, including management of scope, schedule, cost, and risk in regulatory-driven environments.
  • Experience preparing and managing technical reports, regulatory submittals, and client deliverables subject to agency review and approval.
  • Ability to identify and escalate risks early and manage uncertainty associated with complex subsurface and environmental conditions.
  • Strong communication skills with experience engaging clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders in compliance-focused programs.
