As a Business Banking Portfolio Manager, VP you will manage and grow a portfolio of business banking relationships while ensuring strong credit quality and risk management. You will partner closely with Relationship Managers, Credit teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional client service and support portfolio growth. This role offers opportunities to deepen your credit expertise, influence lending decisions, and mentor developing team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the end-to-end renewal process to ensure timely completion of credit presentations and approvals.

  • Complete annual credit reviews and ongoing portfolio monitoring to maintain strong credit quality.

  • Analyze financial statements and borrower performance to evaluate loan requests and recommend appropriate structures.

  • Partner with Relationship Managers, Credit teams, and internal stakeholders to support client needs and business growth.

  • Monitor loan repayment activity and proactively address credit concerns and past-due accounts.

  • Present credit recommendations and participate in the loan approval process as appropriate.

  • Maintain compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Support team success through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and participation in special projects.

Education & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial, corporate, specialized banking, or credit analysis/approval.

  • 2+ years of experience managing complex credit relationships.

  • Strong financial analysis, credit underwriting, and portfolio management skills.

  • Access to reliable transportation and the ability to lawfully drive, if required for the role.

Preferred

  • Experience presenting credit recommendations and participating in loan approval processes.

  • Experience mentoring or training junior team members.

  • Strong relationship management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
