Mission Solutions Engineer
Position Title: Mission Solutions Engineer
Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Clearance Requirement: Secret minimum/Top Secret preferred
Employment type: Full Time
Research Innovations, Inc. (RII) is breaking through the big, slow status quo with transformative technology that fundamentally improves the world. We build advanced software solutions for government and military missions, applying agile development and user-centered design to solve complex, mission-critical problems.
Dragonfly is RII’s next-generation electromagnetic spectrum operations platform, combining advanced sensor integration, GPU-accelerated signal processing, artificial intelligence, and autonomous spectrum operations to deliver real-time spectrum awareness, passive target detection, electronic warfare support, and mission-focused analytics across man-portable, vehicle-mounted, maritime, and airborne environments.
We are seeking a Mission Solutions Engineer to drive the growth, deployment, and operational success of Dragonfly across the Department of War, and U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Serving as the critical link between customers, engineering, and business development, this individual will lead technical engagements, demonstrations, training events, and field deployments while capturing operational requirements that shape future product capabilities. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in Electronic Warfare (EW), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO), SATCOM, or related RF mission areas, and possesses the ability to translate complex technical capabilities into mission outcomes for both operators and senior decision-makers. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role for someone passionate about delivering operational advantage and influencing the future of spectrum dominance technologies.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Customer Engagement & Technical Sales Support
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert during customer meetings, demonstrations, evaluations, operational exercises, and mission-focused engagements.
- Support business development, capture efforts, and customer engagements by articulating Dragonfly's technical capabilities, operational advantages, and mission value.
- Present technical information to operators, engineers, program managers, acquisition personnel, and senior government decision-makers.
- Support customer relationship development by providing technical expertise throughout the sales, evaluation, and deployment lifecycle.
- Conduct Dragonfly demonstrations, operator training, and mission support activities in classroom, laboratory, field, and operational environments.
- Support customer exercises, technology evaluations, operational testing events, and deployed mission activities.
- Develop and deliver mission-focused training and operational guidance to maximize customer effectiveness and system utilization.
- Travel throughout the United States and internationally to support demonstrations, training events, exercises, customer deployments, and operational support requirements.
- Assist customers in developing Concepts of Operation (CONOPS), mission workflows, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and employment strategies.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and RF-related issues in tactical, field, and austere operating environments.
- Provide direct operational support to ensure successful deployment, integration, and employment of Dragonfly capabilities.
- Support mission execution and customer success by identifying and resolving technical and operational challenges.
- Act as the liaison between operational users and engineering teams to ensure customer requirements are accurately represented in product development efforts.
- Gather, document, prioritize, and communicate operational requirements, feature requests, and customer feedback.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineers to improve user workflows, interfaces, and mission-focused capabilities.
- Support validation and refinement of new capabilities based on customer feedback and operational observations.
- Identify and develop new operational applications for Dragonfly across Electronic Warfare (EW), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Electronic Intelligence (ELINT), Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO), Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), and related mission areas.
- Evaluate emerging operational requirements and customer use cases to identify opportunities for future capability development.
- Provide operational insight to inform product roadmaps, capability enhancements, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Help expand Dragonfly adoption by identifying new mission sets, customer communities, and operational employment opportunities.
