Mktg. Content Research Lead

Production Developer
Location: California, San Francisco
Duration: 6 months
Pay: $65/hr - $68/hr (DOE)

The Production Developer is an experienced, hands-on technical marketer who owns campaign execution end to end. This role brings advanced expertise across our marketing automation stack and operates with a high level of autonomy. Applying critical thinking and problem-solving to navigate ambiguous requests, adapt to evolving stakeholder needs, and find the right path forward rather than waiting for a defined process. The Production Developer is expected to scope incoming work, translate business requirements into executable campaign logic, define and validate target audiences using both platform tools and SQL, and maintain high standards through the quality assurance process.

Qualifications:
  • Advanced expertise building campaigns in enterprise ESPs / marketing automation platforms (Marketo, SFDC, Braze, etc.).
  • Advanced expertise in audience segmentation. Able to translate stakeholder intent into precise targeting logic using detailed user attributes, lifecycle stage, platform filters, and custom logic.
  • Proficiency with SQL to validate data, pull lists, QA audiences, and support campaign builds. Comfortable working directly against marketing data sources without hand-off.
  • Demonstrated ability to scope development work from business requirements, surface trade-offs, and propose feasible solutions on planning calls.
  • Experience developing logic-based, event-triggered customer journeys in a marketing automation tool.
  • Experience managing or validating integrated marketing data sources and the connections between marketing tools.
  • Track record of high-attention-to-detail work in a collaborative production process where only campaigns of the highest caliber go out externally.
  • Ability to prioritize a diverse workflow and meet multiple deadlines without needing detailed oversight.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills: able to interpret ambiguous requests, weigh trade-offs, and choose an approach when there is no defined process to follow.
  • Self-starter who explores new functionality and troubleshoots across a diverse ecosystem of marketing tools (CMS, ESPs / marketing automation, form builders).
  • HTML / CSS proficiency for email and landing page troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical instincts and comfort answering business questions with data.

Responsibilities:
  • Build and deploy engagement marketing campaigns end to end. Including:
    • Email
    • In-product banners
    • Push notifications
    • SMS
    • Landing pages
    • Forms/Surveys
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements, scope the work, and propose feasible technical solutions before build begins.
  • Define and build target audiences using platform filters, custom logic, and detailed user attributes or lifecycle stage; validate those audiences with SQL before deployment.
  • Write SQL to pull lists, validate data, QA segment counts, and answer ad-hoc data questions that come up mid-build.
  • Develop logic-based customer journeys and event-triggered campaigns inside our marketing automation tools.
  • Identify innovative, scalable solutions for recurring campaigns and production challenges - recognizing patterns, proposing improvements, and adapting when the existing playbook doesn't fit.
  • Manage and maintain campaign-related data sources and integrated marketing tools to ensure campaigns pull and push the right data.
  • Develop and troubleshoot forms used for lead capture, sign-ups, and survey routing.
  • Execute against tight deployment timelines while maintaining the high production quality bar.
  • Ensure the right channels and tools are selected for each campaign and provide strategic guidance to stakeholders on content personalization.
  • Self-manage a diverse production queue. Prioritizing work across stakeholders, flagging conflicts early, and escalating only when needed.
  • Support stakeholders with training, documentation, and tool access
