About the Department

Lakewood Health System is proud to be opening our new state-of-the-art facility dedicated to advancing cancer diagnostics, treatment, and care. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are expanding our clinical laboratory team and are seeking a highly skilled MLT or MLS with extensive hematology experience to join us at this exciting stage.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Will exhibit problem solving skills of a complex nature, participate in Quality Assurance, Quality Control Monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting, specimen processing, phlebotomy, along with customer service
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of new procedures, products and equipment used in laboratory medicine to act as a resource and provide clinical expertise
  • Performs preventive maintenance in assigned areas to keep equipment in optimal working order
  • MLT: Will perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages to assist with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and injuries.
  • Maintain generalist skills in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, serology, microbiology, and blood banking

Position Type

This is a full-time (1.00 FTE) position. Flexible scheduling with opportunity to work 12 hour shifts if desired, rotating shifts, and every 4­th to 5th weekend 12 hour overnight.
