Mobile Phlebotomist

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Phlebotomist to support our Quality – Clinical Operations team at Astrana Health. This role reports to a Nurse Practitioner and is responsible for helping close care gaps for patients across Los Angeles County through in-home and in-clinic support.

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team and take on an expanded Phlebotomist position that combines traditional blood draw responsibilities with broader clinical support, including health screenings and preventative care initiatives.   • Support Clinical Operations through in-home and in-clinic patient visits across Los Angeles County
  • Perform blood draws and safely transport/drop off specimens at contracted laboratory sites
  • Operate clinical screening devices, including A1C testing, retinal eye exams, and osteoporosis screening equipment
  • Assist with Health Risk Assessments (HRAs) and provide pre-visit support for Annual Wellness Visits
  • Deliver high-quality patient care in both home and clinic settings, ensuring patient comfort and professionalism
  • Manage schedules effectively, complete assigned visits on time, and maintain strong organization in a fast-paced environment
  • Accurately document all patient interactions and procedures in the EMR system
  • Support the Clinical Operations team with additional tasks to help close quality care gaps and improve patient outcomes
  • Travel locally (within ~30 miles) to patient homes, with mileage reimbursement provided
  • Active Phlebotomy certification (CPT I required)
  • At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a clinical or similar setting
  • Active BLS certification
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with patients
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and manage time effectively in a field-based role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Resourceful, team-oriented mindset with a positive, no-ego attitude
  • Passion for working with underserved populations and advancing value-based care initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin
  • Experience working in fast-paced or high-volume environments
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivation
  • Excellent bedside manner, particularly when working with elderly patient populations
  • This is a full-time, onsite/field-based role; hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Approximately 90% of time spent in patient homes and 10% in clinic
  • Clinic location: 506 W. Garvey Ave, Monterey Park, CA 91754
  • Travel required within a 30-mile radius; mileage reimbursement provided
  • Ability to work independently in the field and adapt to changing schedules and patient needs
