MOTOR MECHANIC(GENERAL)

Job Description:
The Heavy Tipper Truck Mechanic is responsible forinspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty tipper trucks toensure vehicles operate safely, efficiently, and with minimum downtime. Themechanic will handle preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, enginediagnostics, hydraulic systems, electrical troubleshooting, andwelding/fabrication work when required.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Vehicle Inspection & Diagnosis

  • Inspectheavy tipper trucks for mechanical issues and safety concerns.
  • Diagnoseengine, gearbox, clutch, brake, suspension, and electrical faults.

2. Preventive Maintenance

  • Changeengine oil, filters, coolant, hydraulic oil, and lubricants.
  • Check andmaintain battery, tyre pressure, air systems, and fluid levels.

3. Repair & Troubleshooting

  • Repairdiesel engines, transmission systems, and differentials.
  • Repairhydraulic tipping systems and air brake systems and suspension systems.

4. Breakdown Support

  • Attendon-site vehicle breakdowns when necessary.
  • Coordinatewith drivers and operations teams regarding vehicle conditions.

5. Welding & Fabrication

  • Performbasic welding and metal fabrication work.
  • Repairtruck body damage, brackets, mounts, and chassis-related issues.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Followworkshop safety procedures and company SOPs.
  • Ensureall repaired vehicles meet safety and road compliance standards.

Technical Skills

  • Strongknowledge of diesel engines and Knowledge of hydraulic systems for tipperoperations.
  • Experiencewith air brake systems, Electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Weldingand fabrication knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Technicalcertification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics / Automotive Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 4–8years of experience in heavy truck or tipper truck repair.
  • Experiencewith brands such as Volvo, Isuzu, Hino, or Mitsubishi Fuso is an advantage.
  • Valid Class3driving license is an added advantage.

Working Environment

  • Workshopand outdoor site environment.
  • Mayrequire overtime, weekend work, or emergency breakdown support.
  • Physicallydemanding work involving lifting and manual repairs.
