About the Role<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

We are seeking a qualified and\nexperienced Motor Mechanic to join our busy workshop. Reporting to the Workshop\nManager, you will carry out servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs\nacross a wide range of light vehicles, working with modern diagnostic equipment\nin a supportive, well\-equipped team environment.

Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Perform under\-chassis, steering and suspension repairs,\nincluding shock absorbers, ball joints, tie rod ends and rack ends
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Perform repairs and maintenance of brake systems
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Carry out regular vehicle servicing, including logbook\nmaintenance
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Perform basic diagnostics for dashboard warning lights
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Repair starting and ignition systems
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Conduct road tests and diagnostics on drive systems,\nincluding wheel bearings and final drive systems
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Troubleshoot and carry out basic repairs of vehicle\nelectrical systems
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Perform routine maintenance on timing belt systems
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Use hand tools and workshop equipment safely and\ncorrectly
<\/p>

Skills<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Confident use of diagnostic scan tools such as Autel,\nSnap\-on and G\-scan
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Ability to diagnose and interpret dashboard warning\nlights and fault codes
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Competent in steering, suspension and brake system\nrepair
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Safe operation of scissor and two\-post hoists and\ntrolley jacks
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Accurate use of torque wrenches and a full range of\nhand tools
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to\nfault finding
<\/p>

Experience<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>At least 1 year of demonstrated experience working as a\nmotor mechanic in an automotive workshop
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Experience servicing and repairing a range of light\nvehicles
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Experience using electronic diagnostic equipment
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>A track record of completing work to a high standard\nand within time
<\/p>

Qualifications<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology\n(or an equivalent or higher qualification) desired
<\/p>
