MTS Developer
Job Summary
Synechron is looking for an MTS Developer to support the development, enhancement, migration, upgrade, and production support of applications built on the ACI Money Transfer System (MTS) platform. This role supports payment processing operations by delivering reliable technical solutions, translating functional requirements into code, and helping maintain stable, efficient banking applications.
Software Requirements
Required
ACI Money Transfer System (MTS): Strong hands-on development and support experience
COBOL VI: Strong development experience
Linux / Unix / AIX: Hands-on experience
Unix Commands: Strong working knowledge
Mainframe: JCL, VSAM
Databases: ACI proprietary database or ENTIA, Oracle
Messaging: IBM MQ
Tools: ACI-MTS, Autosys, Xpeditor, Fileaid
MTS Video: Extensive experience
Payment Formats: SWIFT MT/MX, Chips, Fedwire
Standards: FIN (MT), ISO 20022
Preferred
Git or other release management/version control tools
Experience with POCs for technical products or applications
Exposure to application enhancements, migrations, or upgrades
Overall Responsibilities
Lead MTS development and support for banking application enhancements, migrations, and upgrades
Develop and maintain technical solutions on the MTS platform
Translate functional requirements into effective code
Troubleshoot technical and configuration issues
Support MTS setup including processes, lines, queues, remote records, and database components such as REL and AUX
Support payment message processing and application stability
Contribute to successful delivery, issue resolution, and system reliability
Technical Skills
Programming Languages
Required: COBOL VI, Unix command-line usage
Preferred: Basic scripting exposure
Databases/Data Management
Required: ACI proprietary database or ENTIA, Oracle, VSAM, REL, AUX
Preferred: Payment data troubleshooting experience
Cloud Technologies
Required: Not required
Preferred: Exposure to cloud or hybrid environments
Frameworks and Libraries
Required: MTS platform expertise
Preferred: Enterprise integration exposure
Development Tools and Methodologies
Required: ACI-MTS, Autosys, Xpeditor, Fileaid, JCL, Linux/Unix/AIX
Preferred: Git, POC experience
Security Protocols
Required: Ability to follow security, access, and change management processes
Preferred: Exposure to payment system security practices
Experience Requirements
5+ years of relevant experience
Hands-on experience in ACI MTS Development
Strong experience in financial services / banking / payments
Thorough understanding of payment message flow and formats including SWIFT MT/MX, Chips, and Fedwire
Understanding of FIN (MT) and ISO 20022
Alternative experience in enterprise payment systems, transaction-processing platforms, or banking application support may also be considered
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop and enhance MTS application components
Review requirements and implement code changes
Troubleshoot production and non-production issues
Support MTS configurations and message flows
Participate in technical discussions, support activities, and release efforts
Perform POCs and document technical changes where needed
Qualifications
Any B.E / B.Tech
Relevant certifications are preferred but not required
Willingness to continue learning payment standards, MTS tools, and engineering practices
