An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced,\nreliable and flexible Relief Security Officer<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>to join\nour award winning Street Team based in Central London who work within one of\nthe Business Improvement Districts (BID). This role is ideal for someone\nlooking to cover holiday and sickness shifts, including short\-notice cover, and\nwho is happy to work exclusively outdoors.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>
<\/p>

The role is focused on improving safety, reassurance and\noverall perceptions across the BID area by maintaining a highly visible,\nuniformed presence. Acting as the \u201ceyes and ears\u201d of the BID, the post holder\nwill proactively identify and respond to issues, helping to deter crime and\nprovide reassurance to businesses, residents and visitors alike. This includes\naddressing incidents of crime, anti\-social behaviour, nuisance activity and\nenvironmental concerns in a professional and measured manner.<\/span><\/span>
<\/p>

In addition, the role requires the effective collection and\nsharing of high\-quality intelligence with partner agencies to support a\ncoordinated approach to safety and security. The post holder will also deliver\na welcoming, ambassadorial service, engaging positively with the public and\nlocal businesses while promoting the area. A key aspect of the role is\nsupporting counter\-terrorism awareness and contributing to the overall\nresilience of the BID through vigilance, communication and adherence to best practice.<\/span><\/span>

This position would suit someone with minimal other\ncommitments who is happy to be called upon at short notice and can work\nflexibly when required.<\/span><\/span>

You will be joining a small but exceptional team of Security\nprofessionals \- being able to work with a positive, can\-do attitude as part of\nthe is essential.<\/span><\/span>

Being able to speak Arabic is not essential, but advantageous.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>
<\/p>

The role included the provisions of PPE (including stab\-resistant vests)\nto be worn when on patrol. As this role involves outdoor work \u2013 full uniform and wet weather\nPPE will also be provided.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/p>

This is a physically demanding role involving regular foot\npatrols throughout the BID area, with patrol officers typically covering at\nleast 30,000 steps during a shift. Candidates must be able to meet these\nphysical requirements.<\/span>

Shift availability will vary depending on site needs. This\nrole is ideal for someone seeking flexible work without fixed weekly hours.<\/span><\/span>

Key Responsibilities:<\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

  • Act as a BID Warden, proactively addressing antisocial\nbehaviour within the BID area.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with BID\nbusinesses, premises, and levy payers.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • To maintain a visible high\-profile presence and protect the\nsafety of the area, people, goods, and property.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Identify and report suspicious activity, security concerns,\nand environmental hazards to the appropriate authorities and emergency\nservices.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Liaise effectively with BID representatives, clients, and local\nbusinesses.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Referring vulnerable people to appropriate agencies and\nconducting morning & evening counts of those rough sleeping and where.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Manage and process lost property in accordance with\nprocedures.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Reporting environmental issues including waste, fly tipping,\ngraffiti, water leaks, broken traffic/streetlights, damaged street furniture.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Dealing with<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>pedicabs<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Respond promptly and professionally to requests for assistance\nfrom local businesses and stakeholders.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Carry out regular patrols across the BID area to monitor\nactivity and provide a reassuring presence.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Accurately record incidents, patrols, and daily activities\nusing electronic reporting systems.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Respond effectively to emergencies, incidents, and requests\nfor support.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Investigate and respond to reports of theft, working closely\nwith businesses and relevant authorities.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Monitor, record, and report incidents of antisocial behaviour\nand organised begging.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Work collaboratively with the Police and other partner\nagencies to support crime prevention and community safety initiatives.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Maintain professional and effective communication with\ncustomers, contractors, visitors, and members of the public.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Assist with any other reasonable duties or responsibilities as\nrequested by the BID.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

    • Valid SIA Licence (DS) \u2013 ESSENTIAL<\/span><\/b>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Full 5\-year checkable employment history<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions<\/span>

    • Flexible and reliable with the ability to work at short notice<\/span>

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal<\/span>
