National Instrumentation Technician

Wood is recruiting for a National Offshore Instrument Technician to join our team in Equatorial Guinea.

Please note this position is only open to National Equatorial Guinea personnel.

Location: Offshore Equatorial Guinea

Rotation / Work Pattern: Offshore 4 weeks / 4 weeks off - 7-day week / 12 hour day

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the fire, gas and ESD safety systems are fully operational within specification at all times
  • Ensure the product metering system is maintained and operated within design parameters and fulfils the Fiscal requirement
  • Ensure the Telecom equipment is maintained and operated within design parameters
  • Ensuring all instrument planned maintenance work is progressed and completed satisfactorily and documentation completed to update CMMS system
  • Acting as Instrument Isolation Authority in performing isolations as part of the Permit to Work (PTW) SYSTEM
  • Assure all planned and unplanned work is progressed to a satisfactory completion, in a safe and efficient manner. To this end the use of all available planning tools is vital
  • Liaison with other maintenance and production personnel to ensure all work is coordinated, and within production considerations
  • Maintain a high degree of HS&E awareness
  • To ensure plant and equipment is fully operational and critically maintained in accordance with procedures.
  • To provide OJT (On-the-Job Training) for less experienced technicians so they are fully supported in their assigned tasks and perform competency assessment assurance
  • Ensuring a safe place of work by complying with Permit to Work (PTW) system and safe working procedure(s)
  • The prospective employee will be expected to participate in Process Safety Management activities such as but not limited to:
    • Management of Change
    • Investigation of Incidents
    • Process Hazards Analysis
    • Operating Procedures and Practices
    • Compliance Audits
    • Pre-start-up Safety Reviews
    • Contractors and Short Service Contractors

Essential requirements for this role:

  • Degree in Instrumentation, Automation, Process Control, or a relevant field.
  • Previous experience working in the offshore or onshore oil & gas industry
  • BOSIET & CA\EBS Certification
