About the Role<\/span><\/b> LMATS is seeking an NDT\nTechnician for our Bibra Lake office in Perth. Reporting to the State Manager,\nyou will design and prepare a range of onsite and laboratory\-based testing\nservices, determining test arrangements and test loads in accordance with NATA\nrequirements. You will perform mechanical and metallurgical testing, attend\nclient sites, investigate test failures and prepare technical reports\ndocumenting your findings. Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/b> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Determine test arrangements and test loads in\naccordance with client and NATA requirements. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Select the appropriate test methods and organise the\nequipment required for each test. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Perform mechanical and metallurgical testing in\naccordance with LMATS procedures and NATA requirements. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Conduct conventional and advanced NDT inspections\nacross a range of engineering sectors. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Maintain responsibility for all laboratory equipment,\nincluding its maintenance and calibration. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Undertake site inspections and liaise with clients to\nunderstand their testing requirements. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Review test failure data and conduct tests to establish\npossible causes and recommend suitable solutions. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Carry out root cause analysis and apply\nlearning\-from\-experience processes. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Prepare clear technical reports documenting the\noutcomes of tests. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Travel locally and regionally to complete jobs at\nclient sites as required. Skills<\/span><\/b> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Sound understanding of material properties, electronic\nprinciples and applied mathematics. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Competence in advanced NDT, condition monitoring,\nstructural health monitoring and quality management. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability to interpret and apply regulatory and\ninternational standards relevant to NDT. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Strong root cause analysis and problem\-solving\ncapability. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Technical report writing and computer literacy. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Excellent English communication skills, both written\nand verbal. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Awareness of safety, environmental and quality\nrequirements in an engineering testing environment. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability to work to NATA requirements and apply design\nand materials\-selection processes that meet NDT standards. Experience<\/span><\/b> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>At least 1 year of relevant work experience as an NDT\nTechnician. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Demonstrated experience performing conventional and/or\nadvanced NDT in an industrial or laboratory setting. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Experience liaising with clients and working to defined\ntesting standards and procedures. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Experience preparing technical inspection or test\nreports. Qualifications<\/span><\/b> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Relevant AINDT certificates, or the ability to obtain\nthem (UT / MT / RT / PT Level 2, ISO 9712). \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>A current Manual C\-Class driver's licence. \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span>A positive attitude toward continuous professional\ndevelopment.
