We are seeking a Network Design Engineer to join our Network Architecture and Engineering team. This team is responsible for the design and implementation of innovative network solutions for DXC’s federal government accounts.

This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide

Responsibilities – What success looks like for this role.

  • Your primary responsibility will be to architect and design network & security solutions that align with business requirements and industry trends.
  • Utilize your expertise to translate business requirements into high-level technical specifications, considering the latest technology advancements and customer needs.
  • Develop comprehensive technical design documentation, including high-level designs, low-level designs, bill of materials (BoM), and configuration templates.
  • Act as a trusted technical authority and actively contribute to the planning and execution of implementations ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing by mentoring junior engineers and providing support during incidents, promoting growth and capability development.
  • Effective Communication and Stakeholder management. Ensure both Internal and External stakeholders are provided necessary information about Project Status, Issues, Risks and Change Requests.

Essential Skills and Experience

Experience

Minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on Aruba and Fortinet technologies.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Fortigate SD-WAN design and implementation and the implementation and use of FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer vendor management platforms.
  • Proficient in Aruba CX design and the implementation and use of Aruba Central (on Prem preferred) management platform.
  • Expertise in routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF
  • Working knowledge and experience with Aruba WiFi, Mobility Master and ClearPass technology
  • Working knowledge and experience with DDI - IPAM / DNS management
  • Implementation of network scripting using APIs
  • Understanding of Azure Networking
  • Exposure to and a disciplined approach to Change Management.

Problem Solving
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex network challenges.

Communication Skills

Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.

Teamwork

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable Skills and Experience

Previous network engineering and design experience within the federal government arena

Preferred Certifications

Relevant Aruba and Fortinet Industry Certifications

Other Must Haves

Australian Citizen is a must with a baseline Security Clearance. The applicant should be eligible to obtain a NV1 clearance.
