Network Engineer

Job Responsibilities


Participate as needed in the development and implementation of appropriate network designs, architectures and procedures. Define the framework for service delivery and operational performance of Wide and Local Area Network related services.


Follow appropriate change management and implementation procedures. Ensure that appropriate technical and functional documentation is prepared. Coordinate the implementation process.


Work with technical management to support IT network and security infrastructure services addressing business and compliance requirements with best practices.


Document and maintain topology and configurations on all network elements within the enterprise. Work in conjunction with System & Security Administrators to ensure appropriate network services are integrated with key system and security components.


Self‐manage workload and priorities to complete tasks and department assignments or projects, and meet the deadlines related to those assignments.


Focus on achieving the goals or objectives of the department using available resources (staff and budgetary).Develop staff skills to enhance department effectiveness and manage resources to eliminate excess cost or unnecessary expenditures.


Acknowledge and work help desk tickets in a timely and accurate manner to achieve SLA compliance.Monitor network availability and performance, and perform problem diagnosis and resolution. Ability to work in a change controlled environment.Prepare monthly reporting for IT and Business management consumption.


Minimum Qualifications


Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.


Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English; both in oral and written form. Interpersonal skills with focused attention on customer needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.


Maintain a professional, neat and well‐groomed appearance adhering to appearance and dress standards. Maintain consistent focus on continuous improvement and customer service.


Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays to support the global enterprise. Must be able to travel for occasional work assignments inside and outside the US as needed.



Preferred Qualifications


B.S. or B.A preferred in a course of study such Computer Systems Engineering or Computer Science. Will accept appropriate certifications and level of experience as a substitute.


5 + years of routing and switching experience utilizing Cisco and Aruba Wireless devices 2


3 + years designing, implementing and supporting Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs),Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).


3+ years experience with Palo Alto firewalls. In depth knowledge of dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP‐4. In depth knowledge of all WAN circuit technologies.


Knowledge of IT operations best practices, including ITIL and Project Management. Experience supporting a 24x7 global operation.


Must possess skills necessary to troubleshoot IP network components using appropriate software tools and protocol analyzers.


Knowledge of business process development and improvement. Ability to work in a fast‐paced, busy environment and maintain physical stamina, proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
